Philips DVD Players Firmware updates:
Here are some of the latest firmware updates for Philips DVD players. To find out what version firmware your DVD player has:
- Switch on both your DVD player and T.V.
- Press the menu button.
- Go to the most left menu-item.
- Go to "Access Control / status window / low power standby menu". Keep pressing the down button, until you see your firmware version.
Download the correct firmware for your DVD player and carefully follow the instructions at the bottom of this page.
Firmware upgrading:
First download and Unzip the firmware update for you DVD player. Make sure you read the README.TXT before you do anything else, as will explain how to create the update disc from the files you just extracted. Generally you must burn the unzipped files to a CD-R disc making sure you burn it as a DATA CD, in Mode 2, cdrom-XA, iso9660.
How to update your DVD player firmware:
- Turn on your DVD player and wait until its initialization completes. The display shows "no disc".
- Open the drawer and insert the cd-r disc containing the firmware. Press 'close'. Do not press 'play'.
- The firmware will load automatically. After 1 or 2 minutes the updating is complete.
- After completing, the drawer will open automatically.
- Remove the cd-r disc. Do not press 'close', but gently push the drawer. Wait untill 'no disc' appears and press the power off button.
- Turn on the DVD player, the updating is completed.
Remember you are performing the update at you own risk.
